In Broken Light
Today we had a bit of sunshine, so I decided to take a walk in the park and soak up some of the sunshine. I listened to the snow pack itself under each step as I contemplated how different I might view the world if I had never experienced the different seasons. There are many people that have lived their whole lives and never witnessed snow gently falling from the sky, or the leaves turn the colors of fire. Most importantly, they might have never survived a winter into the beautiful season of spring. There is something wonderful about the time when the world around you begins to awaken and the earth begins to thaw. I have never been a fan of cold weather but with time, I am beginning to embrace the dark cold days in exchange for the anticipation of Spring's arrival.
